A man has been arrested over drug offences following a suspected drug deal in Tamworth yesterday.
Officers working proactively spotted a white BMW being driven suspiciously in the Amington area at around 1.45pm on Monday (29 September).
It pulled alongside another car and officers saw a hand-to-hand exchange.
The driver of the BMW was detained on a petrol station forecourt in Wilnecote a short time later.
A discarded package of cocaine, two phones and a quantity of cash was seized. A hockey stick and baseball bat were also recovered from the car.
A 21-year-old man, from Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
He has since been placed on police bail while inquiries continue.
The driver of the other vehicle was issued with a community resolution.
We continue to do all we can to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs in Staffordshire so as to protect communities from the impact of these dangerous substances.
